LexiCore · iPhone & iPad
Your words. Your choices.
Privacy Policy for LexiCore, the vocabulary-learning app for iPhone and iPad, and this product website.
Last updated: September 29, 2026
1. Who to contact
For questions about this policy or how LexiCore handles your information, contact the LexiCore team at LexiCoreHelp@proton.me. Our support page also explains how to get help.
2. Your learning library and iCloud
LexiCore stores the words you save, definitions, collections, learning preferences, review history, progress, and learning activity on your device. Generated learning content and images you attach to saved words may also be stored with your library. This information powers reviews, recommendations, and your learning experience.
When iCloud is available, app data can sync through Apple’s CloudKit using your Apple Account. This is separate from a LexiCore account. Apple processes iCloud data under the Apple Privacy Policy.
3. On-device and cloud AI
LexiCore can use on-device AI on supported devices. When Cloud AI is enabled, it can also use a hosted AI service, including as a fallback when on-device generation is unavailable. Cloud AI is enabled in the current app’s default settings; check your own Settings to see your selection.
Cloud requests can include the word being studied, its meaning, language and proficiency preferences, a sample of saved words, recent learning errors, and text used in the activity, such as a diary sentence or story context. The app also sends an installation identifier and task type to the LexiCore AI service. These are used to handle the request; the installation identifier is not your Apple Account identifier.
Requests are sent over HTTPS to the LexiCore AI service and routed through OpenRouter to a model provider. Those services process the request to return generated content. Their retention and other processing practices depend on the service and model provider; see OpenRouter’s Privacy Policy and its linked model-provider terms. Do not put sensitive personal information into content you send for cloud generation.
To stop future cloud AI requests, turn off Cloud AI in LexiCore Settings. This does not erase requests already processed by a provider. On-device AI availability depends on your device and system support.
4. Photos, microphone, and notifications
Photo Capture uses images you select or capture to recognize words and objects on your device with Apple’s Vision and Core ML technologies. Selected images or image cutouts can be saved with your vocabulary and sync with app data. Recognized words may subsequently be used in a cloud AI request when that feature is enabled.
Speaking features request microphone and speech-recognition permission and use on-device speech recognition where supported. Recognized text may become part of a learning activity. Notifications are used for learning reminders when you allow them. You can change these permissions in your device’s Settings.
5. Purchases, support, and website visits
Apple handles App Store payments. LexiCore uses StoreKit purchase information to determine Premium access and restore purchases; it does not receive your full payment card details.
If you email support, your email address, message, and any attachments are processed to answer your request. Please include only information needed to investigate the issue.
This website does not add advertising trackers. Hosting and network providers may process technical request information, such as an IP address, requested page, and browser information, to deliver and secure the site. External links take you to services with their own privacy policies.
6. Retention and deletion
Learning data stays in your local library until you remove it or remove the app’s local data. Deleting the app does not necessarily delete copies in iCloud or device backups. Manage those copies through your Apple Account’s iCloud and backup settings; synced deletions can affect your other devices.
Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle the request and related follow-up, subject to applicable legal obligations. Cloud-service records may be retained according to the relevant provider’s policies; this policy does not promise immediate deletion or a zero-retention service.
For help accessing, correcting, or deleting information handled by the LexiCore team, email LexiCoreHelp@proton.me. Describe the request without sending passwords or sensitive learning content. We may need information to identify the relevant records. Rights and available remedies depend on your location and applicable law.
7. Your controls
- Turn off Cloud AI to stop future hosted AI requests.
- Manage LexiCore’s iCloud access and backups in Apple’s settings.
- Revoke camera, microphone, speech, and notification permissions in device Settings.
- Contact us about privacy, access, correction, or deletion.
Core vocabulary learning does not require a separate LexiCore account. Cloud features and synchronization require a network connection.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, its service providers, or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here and, where required, communicated through the app or another appropriate notice.
